Michael R. Nuccio

MEET & GREET

June 10th & 23rd 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm

June 16th & 30th 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

I began painting late in life at the age of 19 just shortly after accepting Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior in 1999. I quickly put together a portfolio over 6 months and received a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute. Based on these early experiences with both Jesus and painting I believe any ability to paint comes from Him. My paintings are an abstract expression and representation of my inner thoughts and emotions past, present and even future. My paintings are very improvisational in nature like some of the best music. The content is defined by the actual process of “doing” the painting itself. This process often includes building up several layers and organic shapes of paint and implementing an additive and subtractive element to those layers over and over until I emotionally feel the content has reached its’ completion. Once I “feel” it has, the process is over and the painting is complete. During this painting process I make it my objective to emphasize both color scheme and texture.
